Norn are very popular, human too.
The sylvari are by far the rarest toons (or maybe they blur in the bushes…)
Asura and charr are pretty popular.
It seems difficult to make a real statistic,
but what i witness is roughly :
1:Human.
2:Norn-Charr
3:Asura
4: Sylvari.By far.

I have no difficulty in understanding why.
Human and norn females are sexy
Human males and easy for the player to identify.
Males norn are badass
Charr are badass
Asura are funny and cute.
Sylvari are….nothing special.
Very serious mainstream tree hugging background and RP. Female aren’t attractive and males are not impressive.
I see ONE good reason to roll sylvari though : Necro sylvari with darky armor.

for me After reading ghosts of ascalon and wiki i really want to play one :) , so i think i’ll start with the sylvari and trying RP.

probably creat a female sylvari and a male human for a start.

and for a long term i got to have all races and all profession on my account. that’s the plan. since GW2 all Archivements are Account wide, so i wont suffer the same title grinding like in GW1. (Thanks the Devs!)

This article is eight months old and severely outdated, but it’s still one of my favorites, especially since it was before the information flood-gates opened.

With activity surrounding GW2 bustling now, It’s interesting to see what people are saying regarding the races. Humans are the most popular it would seem, followed by the Charr and then Sylvari. It makes complete sense, though, because of the attractiveness of the “bad-ass” race, and they really are the most unique as far as appearance goes.

So you’re completely right: one single race out of five in GW2 will make up the “Horde” with the other four attracting “Alliance”.
